Hi
My c280 seats often fail to work. I've wiggled and checked fuses under hood and in trunk.I've wiggled and unplugged connections under each seat.No response. They work when they want. It's both seats same time.
Thanks for help.

I have seen this fault before, but it was a kind of emergency on a car that could not stop for long. There are a couple of fuses in the boot area, near the spare wheel that serve the electric seats. On the car I had problems with, the supply to these fuses occasionally dropped out. The customer had neither the time nor inclination to have us trace the fault back, and elected to rig up his own supply from the battery to the offending area. Not what I would advise, but it may give you food for thought. I would imagine there is a relay controlling this supply, perhaps governed by the state of battery charge, to prevent flattening if seats operated too much. This could be your fault... if it exists and you can find it...

Hi,
I use to have an intermittent fault with my electric seats in my C43, my seats use to work perfectly but would both pack up on a intermittent basis.
I had it looked at and was told the fault could lead back to the EIS switch, but after a bit of investigation work i found there was a relay that was fitted in the boot that if it packed up would effect the operation of the seats.
It is fitted under the plastic panel just behind the rear seats.
The pdf file i have attached may give you some assitance, the unit i replaced on mine is the unit with the solid state unit inside of it it was aprox. £20.
