Hi All,

Just a quick question in case any one can help before sending it to a garage.

I had a wine a few months ago, looking around the forums it became clear that it could be the power steering fluid.

So pulled the dipstick out and it was bone dry. went to MB and bought the correct fluid for the car and topped it up (thought perfect the wine had stopped) not empty though only took 250ml to top up.

A month later wine is back, power steering fluid is dry again but not empty, took around 250ml to top up.

i have had to top this up every month ish. i believe there is a leak from somewhere.

any suggestions where it could be/how i can fix the leak?

or do i just take it to the garage?

Certaily seems like you have a leak. No obvious signs I suppose.

Do you have an MB indy nearby who can check it for you?

If you have a steering rack as to the power steering box . The leak will be internal .And as the oil gets past both seals it will fill up the rubber gaiters on both ends .You might not see any oil patch on the floor, because it escapes when the wheels are on left or right lock . But first take a good look at the hoses and at the pump itself for leaking oil . Is the steering normal other than the noise , if it is, then i would say its only a leak ..
