Plucked up the courage to check out the rust issue on the X member on my W210 E240 this morning (minor issue  not as bad as some have described on this Forum) when I noticed quite a lot of oil staining and oil runs underside and apart from some overspill from changing the oil filter it appears to be coming from the PS Pump.

The questions are therefore:
1 Is it 'easy' to replace the pump?
2 Do you have to take off the pulley or does a replacement pump come with a pulley?
3 Do you need to drain the fluid from the old pump before removal or don't you bother! and when filling does the system need 'bleeding' if so how?

Clean it all first with a de-greaser to make sure where its coming from.

Upon a closer inspection fluid appears to be coming from the underside of the plastic reservoir, however you are quite right so I will degrease the whole area and see what is what.
