Hello there, :D
I'm new to this forum-I have a W203 C-class and I just fixed two amplifiers and a subwoofer in my car and I realized that anytime I put on the radio or cd the headlights and dashboard lights dim according to the amount of bass produced by the subwoofer-even though I have a capacitior I don't like the way the lights dim so I guess there is too much strain on the battery-I wanted to ask if MB makes a more powerful battery to use in these situations??Thanks

n.b;Does anyone know what happened to mbworld.org :?: :?: :(

Do you know how many amp the alturnator is? I do have this problme before, when I install stereo system into my old vauxhall, finally, I install a bigger battery, and higher ampare alturnator (90A) to solve the problem...

I just use the Bosch Silver battery, get the one as big as you could install! then should be enough!

Have you try to measure the voltage of teh battery when your stereo playing? The Capacitor will only give you harder bass when the bass kicking, but, if your source power is not enough, it won't help a lot. also, what gauge of power cable you use? bigger amp need bigger gauge cable, to give it enough power supply.

If your battery voltage not high enough, your amplifier power output will be a lot more lsee then the power it should be......

Anyway, what power output did your amp(s) have?? what sub you use??

Thanks a lot for your reply-I use a Phase linear 12" SI subwoofer and i use a JBL BPX1100.1(2200 watts) for the sub and a JBL PX300.4 as a 4 channel.I'll try and measure the voltage as you said and I'll definitely get a bigger battery. Thanks :D

Massive power!!!

Well, I use Pheonix Gold Zx 475 ti, 4 x 75 w for teh front and a Zx 600ti 2x 300w for a pair of 10in vibe subs (with PG basscube), and I need totally 90 amp main fuse and gauge 0 cable for enough power supply in both possitive and ground.

I think you also need massive power cable for enough power supply to your amps, it will give u harder and faster sound.

I am now planning to install teh stuff into my W210, but still planning for the whole installation...

Also, how about your ground connection?

Hi slytoksy
Before you buy a bigger battery, Where did you take your + feed from ?. You need to take it from a point as close to the battery as possible(through a fuse of course). If you have taken it from a point in the wiring loom that also feeds the dash lights etc., then voltage drops caused by heavy bass etc. will cause lights to flicker. Same also applies to ground wires, i.e. keep it close to the battery - , although this will be less critical than the + feed. Hope Im not telling an expert auto electrician things he already knows, But big batteries are expensive.
