Hi Everyone

Thought i would share my experience with you, ordered rear centre brake light off this people (secondhand) for clk 2002 model 208 assured me it was correct part as 02 was the change over year, he did not sound sure and i was proved to be correct, wrong part.

I phoned and explained that i would be sending back and was told that they do not pay postage despite them sending wrong part.
Now i am not sure they are right i am looking into it at mo, but why should i pay for 'Prestige Allparts' mistake if i had cancelled or decided i did not need part then fair enough
I sent back today and see what happens, i will keep you updated

So be aware if you order parts and its their fault you still have to pay for it ' Welcome to UK service '

Some car part firms can be rotten in this respect.

I see that you live on top of Ollie at prestige

E300 Diesel...now with less dents!
Amazing timing, I was about to start a thread about these people as my refund has finally arrived.

I ordered a door in November for my E300.

2 weeks later (!) it turns up damaged and for a different model, I ring them to complain and request a replacement, they wanted me to pay return postage, I just started quoting Distance Selling Regulations at them and they said they would send out a new one. I email them pictures of the door that I require

Another week passes and the replacement turns up after some chasing, again damaged although it the right model but wrong colour. I ring up and ask for a refund/replacement.

I email them repeatedly over the course of a month or so before threatening them with the small claims court. This actually works and I got my refund through this afternoon.

I'm sure they do have satisfied customers but I just found the whole process of dealing with them a complete nightmare.

Just happy to have my money back, don't know what to do with the two useless doors though that they didn't collect.

Think its worth stripping out vacuum pumps etc from the doors before disposing of them?

I refused point blank to return the item at my own cost, I told them to collect it when they sent out the replacement.

I still have both damaged doors taking up space in the back garden.

Ok i got money back today shown on credit card statement £34.50, no the postage was not paid £3.00 i wont waste anymore time chasing.
However they have obbiously lost me as a customer and maybe some more after you have read this.

I just find it amazing that a company send out the wrongs parts and except you to pay for return postage for no fault of your own, under the distance selling act they cannot do this and had it been a larger amount i would have gone further.

So PRESTIGE ALLPARTS i would stay well clear if you not want the aggro of getting your money back inc postage.

Ps i think i will post this thread on other car forums

£3 postage isn't too bad, they wanted me to return the door at a cost of around £30 plus the packaging materials!

I agree, steer well clear.

This morning I reveived an email from 247 spares stating that Prestige AllParts have a part I requested.
Then a couple of hours later, someone from Prestige AllParts calls to say, we have the part you're after.

I said I'd think about it and call back.

But now that I've read this thread, I have my doubts.
Has anyone ordered successfully from them?

I should've probably looked these guys up before buying something off them. I was quoted £40 for wishbones and they charged me £69.

I've been chasing a refund for a mistake they've made for the past 3 weeks now but still with no avail. Definately lost me as a customer.

Lock nightmare on my A160

Hi, I have also had a similar experience from pretige all parts. I ordered a lock for my boot and after a week was told that it was lost by the cornier company.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt and was promised by mike that he would get me a new one by the end of the week. The next week went by and by this time I was already so fed up with waiting and calling them, with promises of being called back by the way and never getting a call back that I phoned and cancelled the order.

Immediately I was called back and promised the part, but after 3 weeks I had fixed it myself....

Well that was 2 weeks ago and now I have this feeling that I am going to have to chase my refund and hassle them all week for my money..

Wish me luck....

raptorman (and others with a grievance),
I would e-mail them a link to this post and let them wallow in there own ***t!

This is unrelated but I was once ripped off for £65 on eBay and was refused a refund..
In the feedback for the seller I put "Dont deal with seller..E-mail me to ask why"....
I pre prepared a letter telling all the facts and dates of multiple e-mails I had sent to the seller...
I recieved 23 e-mails and I had the great pleasure of telling them "why"..
I recieved 17 e-mails back with them thanking me for warning them, and they assured me they would not be dealing with the seller...

I then e-mailed the seller and told him I had "cost" him at least 17 x £65 and so in my opinion this was a just fine..
I pre-empied his response by saying His undoubted complaint to eBay would be too late as he has allready lost the sales..
I suggested that if he treated his customers in a more reasonable fashion then they would not feel the need to slap his wrists financially..

Now OK I didnt recieved a refund but my god the e-mail felt sooo good that I sent telling him of his financial loss!!!
Dont rip me off !!!:D:D

And you haven't noticed any parts missing of your own car following this?

Wheels, engine perhaps...

I bought something off a fella id been chatting to on ebay, he seemed a straight talking decent bloke. He wouldnt sell buy it now as he wanted and expected silly money, but happy to let the auction run. Buf after i won it for less than he wanted, he just cancelled the sale

I left a few choice words in his feedback expecting ebay to remove them, but never. And after refusing to accept the cancel request ebay will now charge him to. That was sweet,
And he was from york, must be the water or lack of it.
:)
