Brand new duovalve from the dealer - £200+ quid

Duovalve out of a scrapped vehicle in Keighley - £15 quid

Not being roasted alive in the driver's seat - priceless :)

...and I got a full set of mats for £15 :)

Shame they are no longer a registered ebay user. Perhaps, like me, they had a bad experience with ebay.

I can give you the bloke's phone number if you want to ask him something? Its a small business so I doubt he'd mind.

Well I've had the 'new' valve on for a week and it seems to be behaving itself.

I did however find this excellent post which I shall use to open my old one up and have a look:

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=242566&highlight=duovalve

This is not something (touch wood) that's giving me a problem at the moment - but what a brilliant post, isn't it? In the very best tradition of 'main dealer beating' DIY repairs, and superbly documented.

As someone mentions, just hope his tap washers stand the heat - he deserves success!

I think they should - after all, a tap washer can stand hot water for years.

That reminds me, I've got water hammer downstairs.....

Hi

My duovalve has failed hot and I've been broiled in the car as well.

I just bought one off ebay for £20 delivered, buy it now

Perfect working order from a seller with 250 +ive feedback.

Good enough for me I'm really pleased as well.

Tony

Keep your old one - you may be able to repair it using the link I provided above. If you can do that, you either have a spare duovalve, or a bit of cash on the side.
