M3 FLA as I had an m3 before the merc ( clk320 convertible) and fla because of my surname flamson. I also got L3 FLA, which is on my van, both for £250. from the dvla site.

I have A R08 LAW my name but my wife says if I put it on the car she won't come in it!!

How I wish that would work for me. I would buy it off you in a flash.

M6 Cab - prior to that, SL63 AMG, A-M V8 Vantage, SL55, SL500 and many more
without wading back through 20 odd pages, a pal of mine had KGB 1 on a mini cooper S - was pleased he got an extra hundred quid for it when he sold the car :confused:

My Plate is

I've got X3 CAD I bought it 9 years ago for £450 and had it on my BMW now its on my new AMG sport plus. My surname is Cadman and I was going to buy an X3 Bmw but never did. It looks good and I'm happy with it plus its worth double what I paid so its the only bit of the car going up in value.

I wish! I'd love a V12 to play with... and that plate :D

Yes they are good fun. I've just had a wonderful drive through the peak district in mine, sunny day and open road what more could you ask for. :D

I found it cheaper to change my name by deed poll to LS06BYO. No need to mess around with "screws" or spacing.

Unfortunately I sold the car a couple of years ago.

So now who looks like a T**T?

Best wishes all

LS06BYO (my friends just call me LS06).

Never noticed this thread before, just had fun reading through and noting the remarks and opinions as much as the actual registrations, lol.

Personally I'm not much of a fan of contrived names for example, but metaphorically raise my hat occasionally in appreciation of creativity and humour that doesn't rely on screwheads and modifications. Less is more.

Initials and a significant number? Not for me but why not? Trade/Profession-linked? Same. My wife is a needlework/dressmaking/quilting/etc guru/teacher/designer/consultant and she has "SEW" slotted in to an otherwise unremarkable number/letter combination, also deliberately keeping the correct date letter not to disguise anything.

We have always been massive fans of Queen since the way-back days, and this is on one of mine ... just an ordinary age-appropriate registration on a nice old MB unless you happen to be aware of why it isn't, or notice the artwork in front of you at the lights and then connect the dots ...

I've had a couple of people comment, though what I really like is that it is so invisible that even in the car park at Queen conventions it takes someone to spot that the logo isn't the normal Euro-flag that is assumed on first-glance with all the rest, before they might take a second glance at the actual registration. When that has actually happened a time or two it is very enjoyable watching their expression go from puzzled to a smile of realisation like a mini-sunrise :)

And lol I did once have a 5-figure offer for it at a convention, and I believe that Brian May has a nice S124 so do you think that maybe ..... ? :)

I have a couple of plates. And they are a pain in the backside when changing a car. And not worth the hassle! One is a one number and 3 letter plate which was on my SL but took it off when I tried to sell it, so is on retention the past 18 months. The other is M1 and my initials. But although they look good, who cares!!!

Having just bought a 124 Coupe 300 24v with an H plate, I will be happy to run about with it on the H just to show how good it is at its age.

This just came back to mind ... from somewhere at the top of the M6 many years ago now ... made me smile, and I simply HAD to slow and let it pass so I could take a photo. Took a little digging to find it now, still chuckled.

This is a very subjective matter.

We buy a car that suits our individual taste and reflects where we are in the food chain. we all would like to be able to buy one that cost £80k, but not all can afford to do so.

So why not spend a little money to make you feel special!!!

My son just had his 18th birthday, and was struggling to find a suitable gift.
By chance I was on this web site and started to read this thread by GFP
and went on to the DVLA site and found T1 EHW ( Tim is is first name followed by his middle names and surname initials. £ 350.00 plus reg and VAT.

So he will now have a p[late for life, and something to remember is 18th.

Hes just having lessons, and wil be going on a 2004 1.3 Yaris!

Have T* GRD (my initials) on Q7 and G* TRD (SWMBO's initials) on retention (from the S4) SL has T** GRD (first two * are same number)

For some reason the 2nd one (which we bought first) is worth twice the first one (and now double what we paid for it) - SL one was a £200 RegTransfers jobbie.

Will be buying a CLS 500
I was given R6VED by my now wife and if you squint slightly and look at it a bit sideways :) it looks like revved which for a car nut seems appropriate, soon to go on my recently acquired CLS 500
