Problem with GPS

The GPS screen seems to disappear into a blank screen and then comes up with something I can only describe as a barcode type image. This is an intermittent fault and has been happening over the last few weeks. Took it to a garage but without the faults showing they seem unable to help. Went to a Mercedes dealer who quoted £192 per hour to investigate but warned it could cost thousands to put right. Any ideas to self diagnose be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome, it could be the start of a screen failure, it can also be a software issue - you could get the system software updated - I expect that it never has been...

My W213 E220d did it twice, Mercedes updated the software and I didn't have the issue again - I only had it for 18 months though.
