Hello,

Im new to the forum and Just wondered wether somebody would be able to help me on this as Im not the most technically minded. and this is not an abvious fault.

The problem is where the Passangers door on my 2006 Mercedes CLK 220 CDI Avantgarde Automatic Model: C209.

The Passangers Door Doesn't Seem to be getting any power, I say this because the window will not go down buy the master switch on the drivers door and neither by the passangers door switch, also to add to this it will not lock or Unlock by the remote central locking. The only doors that lock are the Boot And also The drivers door, but nothing from the passangers, now also the passangers door mirror cannt be adjusted neither will it fold in (but the drivers door does) the passangers door will lock when you push the pin down from the inside of the car and you can only open from inside by bpulling the handle.

I hope someone could help me here.

The car needs to go on star to see if the door control module can be communicated with. It's also worth checking the fuses
It may be a door controller failed worse case

Hi thanks for your reply!

Have you heard of this before on a clk ?

I think that some water has gotten into the passengers door some how, could this cause such a problem?

As the door mirror adjust doesn't work also the folding mirror function neither does the indicator in the mirror work and also the locking and the window on the door.

Many thanks

Yes water is a killer, and all those parts controlled by the door ECU, the last one I ordered came programmed,

You do have a fuse for that controller that could have blown

There should be a fuse diagram in the tool kit for your car or folded up inside a fuse box.

The ECU are around £175

I cannot check on your fuses till later to night

Hello Television,

I will check my fuses later this afternoon and to try and narrow down the problems.

You say that the door ECU's are £175 is that a Brand New one? - If so could you use a second hand part? as I can possible get one for £75 delivered with a 6 month warranty.

or is it worth just going for the Brand New one?

would you say it could be one of these two things? ( the Fuse or Passangers Door Moduel?)

many Thanks Luke

If water got in, then that could blow the fuse, nothing wrong with a second hand module at all, they either work or they do not, I have used a secondhand door module before now

you have been a great help. Thank you very much.

May I also ask do these moduels have to be programmed (New or Old)

or would I have to have it programmed by a Dealer?

Thanks Luke

If it has come out of a car the same then no programming,, my last new one came programmed from MB,,, its their new policy to get people to use the dealers, but you do not have to.

All it means if you do not get it coded to the car, then on offline STAR will not find it, but that does not matter if it all works.

If you get a new one and its not coded then any indie with STAR can do this cheaply

Beyond checking the fuses you really need some proper diagnosis, before you can usefully duscuss parts and costs.

No, it is not a common fault.
No, DCMs do not often fail (DCM = door control module).

Did you find the fuse sheet folded in the fusebox at the end of the dash?

Checked the fuses which are located in the drivers door and cannot seem to see any at fault/blow. Just called Mercedes Benz and they said the part is £312 Including VAT - I took the door card off and got the part number which is 209 820 19 26

Could I get this Cheaper anywhere else?

or the used Part @ £75.

whats should I do.

Did you change over F21 and 22 just to see if the fuse was OK.

You should as Alex says get the car checked before buying, could it be a broken wire in the door hinge area.

If it is the DCM a breaker will charge ½ the new price, I think it must have been a lot of water that went in if it was the reason

Hi,

No I havent changed over the F21-22 Fuses.

I will give this a try, and I think you are right I should get it on the Correct Machine to see what faults (messages) it can bring up.

Alot of water must of got in the door as in my foot well you can see that water has been there. ales said that it could be the CAN Wires? as this could of damaged the cabling.

- I think Ill have it diagnosed on the mercedes machine to see whats what.

wIf I asked nicely would you have a Wiring diagram for the Mercedes CLK C209 Model?

Thanks Luke

I think that checking that you actually have 12v on the plus input on the DCM would go a long way

Hello guys just to let you know I have resolved the issue, tested for a 12V current to the DCM and wasn't nothing there, so I got my local mechanic to pull the carpet up and check the cables by the flooring panel and discovered the connector block had water been around it and had rusted a little and the connection had been disconnected. So replaced the block with new connectors which resolved the problem was very happy to have found it and not spent much money.

Can I ask does the scuttle panel get easily blocked? And how easy are these to get off? Is there a certain procedure?

Many thanks for your help guys.
