I am having trouble with my transmission. I have a c200 cdi 2006 Automatic with just under 60k on the clock.
When driving, it is all fine however on occasions it seems to stop changing gears and just revs past 3000rpm. When this happens and I have come to a stand still, changing to and from neutral and drive, it seems to jolt. The only way to resolve this issue is switching the ignition off and back on again. The car is absolutely fine after this. I think it is called LIMP MODE when this happens.
I HAVE NO MECHANICAL OR CAR KNOWLEDGE -so i do apologise if im not making any sense, but from what people have told me it is the 'ECU'.
When I switch the ignition off it seems to be resetting
I took it to a small car garage which put it on a handheld device to check for codes but no codes came up. (Maybe the device they use is not good enough?)
There are no warning lights on the dashboard. I have only had the car for just over a month and is still under warranty. The dealer told me to get error codes and bring it back to them, with no error codes, what else can be done?
Is it possible to take it to a Mercedes dealer for a free diagnosis and report so I can show the dealer?
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
