Having a couple of issues with check engine light and air con, not sure if they are related to each other but they happened at the same time. Dealer's tech dept. is closed today so need some help here.

Check engine light started to display yesterday, I tried switching the engine off and back on wouldn't help. The car has only done less than 1000 miles so I wouldn't think it requires servicing?

When this happened, I also found air con not working, not that it couldn't produce cold air, but it couldn't be switched on full stop. Normally when it's off, you'd see a red light on top of the "OFF" button, but yesterday there was no red light and none of the buttons on air con was working nor responding.

I tried the air con this morning it appeared to working fine again, but I still suspect there is something wrong here, and the check engine light is still on.

Will call dealer tomorrow anyway, but any ideas why this is happening? Can I still drive the car without damaging the engine?

You really need a STAR plug-in to determine the fault If it was me I would drive it but it's your call and your car

I do hope it's just a software thing, although "resetting" it by switch the car off and back on didn't help. The car is still very very new and I was expecting it to be much much more reliable.

Has there been any upgrade on the software for W212 estate since Jan 2013?

will call dealer tomorrow and see what happens.

You say it only has less than 1000 miles? Still under warranty...so dealer indeed.

Yep, will have a conversation with them tmr.

Still wonder why air con came back to work this morning. What difference could have it been other than just leaving it overnight? Was it to do with car's temperature?
