Problems with dashboard CD reader

Hi, I have an E320cdi Avantgarde Estate (W210K) which has just developed a problem with reading CD disks, especially the NAVI disk.

I have tried putting a standard music CD in the player but it does not want to read this either. Any suggestions?

I recently changed the battery (and re-set all of my electric windows) but I think I have used the NAVI since then.

The normal answer for this is to try a CD lens cleaner first,if this does not work the laser pick up will have to be replaced.
