This is just completely opposite my experience, picking up my then new C320 Cdi (2006).

Lufthansa Business Class, collected from aiport, 4* Hilton Bremen, food ok, collected, luggage taken care of, paperwork done, factory tour (english) - me being the only one! Car presented, shown everything, comand set up help and on my way. Incl fuel.

First Class (or whatever they call it on the tunnel) was also included.

Great experience, would do it again.

Write to MB Milton Keynes MD!

It was 7 years ago, but only issue was no taxi in my name from the Airport to Bremen hotel when I picked up my CLK, but there was a taxi supposedly for a different Mercedes customer who was a no-show, so I eventually got my transfer OK.

Hotel was a standard business class hotel, nothing special but adequate. Other than that it was a great experience and definitely preferable to a local collection, although the local dealer also did a great job in re-valeting, checking, putting UK plates on etc and re-presenting me with my car.

If I ever buy another new I would definitely choose the option again.

Thanks Nobs&Dials, for the link to the Telegraph story, to everyone else only want to hear from bad experiences, this may sound harsh but I am compiling a case I apperciated all your feedback but I did do the factory collection in 2001 wich went very well this time in 2008 it was discracful but let me tell you if you write to MB Milton Keynes with a complaint DO NOT expect them to be helpful and simpathetic once they have sold you a car they do not give a SHI*

Keep the Bad MB personal collection stories flooding in please all helps,

Thanks Guys

Its interesting, especially given the whole 'customer must be happy' thing they're doing with the dealers now. I was chatting to a service manager recently and he was telling me that his basic salary is crap but he gets a massive bonus (basically his main income) based on customer satisfaction. They call you and send out a questionnaire to see if you're happy. Every bad comment costs him a chunk of his bonus - hence he goes out of his way to ensure you are happy. Allegedly MB are putting satisfaction ahead of profit now.

So, I can't see why MK wouldn't be interested but if you're getting nothing from the muppets on the call centre then just go higher until you find someone who cares namely a boss. Failing that, surely there is a manager of the factory collection service in Germany. Demand to speak to them.

Nope MB Milton Keynes have been useless I wrote to the so called Top Guy and his replies to me were pathetic, just goes to show you that all MB are interested in is your money, the dealers do work hard and do a good job this is not a dealer problem its HQ being arrogent and not valuing their customers, I have receieved many emails for others who were left stranded at Bremen Airport and MB Milton Keynes did nothing about it, also many customers saying experience is a rip off for what you get for the money.

Lambo,
Im confused about your statement on the cost of the trip and not worth the money you paid.
