greetings friends.
so i am aware that you cannot just put in a used ECU into another vehicle since there is anti-theft information.
as i understand it, this should not be too hard if both my original ECU is functional (it is). i have the VIN of the donor C32 ECU.
i have looked at the W203 and the ignition system/fobs are the same as the W211, so i am confident that what would be written to it would be the same format.
my question is about writing the E320 4matic VIN into the ECU.
will this process strictly modify the bytes corresponding to the vin? i don't want it to touch other things and make it a bland ECU, which i already have.
i assume moving the "fbs" (forgot what that meant, but i assume it's related to the fobs) data will not have any suspense.
just want to make sure i know what to ask for because apparently this can be done through STAR? any advice would be great.
i need to make sure that after programming my car will start, and if it does then i'll buy the engine and get this done.
