Following a discussion with Anthony @GAD Tuning LTD at GAD Tuning in Essex, we will be including a Question and Answer feature on Mercedes Tuning within the Forum but also in Mercedes Owner magazine.

This provides a prime opportunity to put any question to the experts to answer, which we hope will help inform a clearer understanding on tuning your Mercedes.

Once we have collated the questions, we will give Anthony sometime to come back to us with the replies for the feature.

Can a car be remapped on the premise that it will not use premium fuels?

What age and/or mileage should you not remap a car beyond?
Can the above 'limit' vary based on service history, model, engine and general condition etc?

If a car presents as unsuitable due to a mechanical fault, misfire, EML etc that was not disclosed or appeared on the drive up to you, is a fee still payable?

What is the warranty on a remap?

Can some aftermarket mods (wheels, stretched tyres, exhausts, suspension) make a remap not recommended on a car.

Are all remaps the same, or are some companies better than others?

GAD are the best obviously.

Are tuners “make specific” ie should you look for a marque ‘specialist’ or is the science the same across all makes?

Can hybrids be remapped successfully? or is the symbiosis dangerous to meddle with in case battery management is affected?

If I want to do a DPF delete on a W211 with OM648 with a remap afterwards, do I need to physically do the delete first or can GAD do it at the same time?
