I've just spoken to a guy who recently purchased a 2004 CLK and has found that when driving on the motorway a display comes up on the screen saying he can not exceed 100 MPH on winter tyres. He said that the car does not have winter tyres fitted.

Anyone heard or know of what this could mean?

Thanks,
Beccy

There is a setting in the cluster menus to set the speed limit for winter tyres. He just needs to scroll through the various sub-menus till he finds it. Or read the owner's handbook ;)

I have an '06 CLK and there is a setting on the speedo display settings for max speed for winter tyres. You just need to find it and cancel it.:D
