question bout fuel

i have just purchased a really clean 500SEC in black for £1400, it has been in spain for 16yrs and has very minimal rot, a few tiny scabs, it has covered 127,000 miles and the interior is excellent,

a good buy?? i like to think so, not sure if they fetch much cos of their engine size

also will it run on unleaded?? im usin lrp at present, i'd be grateful for any good tips too

It is great seeing people enjoy these cars!

Fuel consumption is rough on that car, but the power and sheer driving pleasure more that makes up for it. Especially pulling away from a noisy boy racer at the lights... :twisted:

A quick search through the archives basically show that you could use unleaded. I would put a tank full of leaded or lrp in every 4th tank though.

My 380 is 20 years old an still going strong. Some mechanical stuff needed to be sorted out since the previous owner did not look after the car to well, but I just love the car. I am selling my other car (which is a lot newer) because I like this one too much.

As said run a search and you'll find previous postings on the subject of un-leaded. I'd stay away from the LRP and either use leaded, which is still available, or go for one of the additives such as Castrol Valvemaster or Redline.

thanks for the help, and i now understand how to do searches, so hopefully any other questions i have may have already been answered, i see how it works now, now to get on and enjoy owning such a beast of a luxury car
