Looking for some advice ! My hood on my R107 has recently gone "flappy" above the window. Investigation reveals that there is a wire in the hood that runs above the window, as the frame opens, this tensions and pulls the seal doun on to the flat metal of the frame above the window. So the problem is that these wires have snapped (both sides)
. It feels like the break points are both at the same point where the front section of the hood folds when it is stowed.
My question is - can these be easily replaced by the DIY'er, or is it a specialist job ? Is there an MB part for this, or will bicycle brake cable do the job ?
Any input gratefully received
