R129 Charcoal Cannister Location

Can someone advise where the charcoal cannister is located on a 1997 R129.

My guess would be under the left hand front wing. Possibly accessible by removing the inner wheel arch lining.

That is the case for my 124.

I had time to check today. The charcoal cannister is located under the left hand side wing. To access remove the wheel and the wheel arch lining.

Yes, that is what I recall on my 300CE. How easy is it to get to the canister? Mine was replaced by the garage.

I was getting fuel vapour smell in the interior. I suspected the charcoal cannister, After getting access to the area I did try to remove the cannister but couldn't work out how it is unclipped. It is in a confined space. Then I noticed one of the rubber hoses was split. This was repaired and the problem solved. In the end removal was not required.

.First jack up the car remove the front wheel . And then find and remove the 6 or more plastic nuts,, .to remove the wheel arch lining .Do a little cleaning while your in there and spray inside with a wax nhibitor. Before replacing the w/a/ cover
