Hi
many thanks.
just to clarify, the heater control panel has only 1 digital display and 1 temp. wheel and that the air always blows and the flow is adjustable. When driving a distance (yesterday around 8 miles) the heat does eventually 'kick in' and is the same temperature both sides of the car.

Just a thought.

It may well be quite irrelevant, but it is conceivable that there is no defect here.

If you have a 129 with hardtop, it is quite a small cabin with a large glass area. On a sunny day I don't expect much heat from the heater, indeed on settings up to 23 C it does not give heat even with otg @ 11 or 12 C, as it is cooling rather than heating in order to sustain the inside temp.

I suppose you have cranked the heater control up to maximum when chasing this fault (which would give heat whatever), but I often don't feel heat from the principal heater for 6-8 miles (until the engine is fully warmed through). There is however heat from the side vents within .25 miles in very cold weather, but that is a separate issue.

Just a thought.

This fault Alex is quite well know, my car would do it, the inside temp just drop and drops and hard to get it warm, the cooling is unaffected

I have sent the paper, chances are we thought it was somewhere else, its behind the control unit.

If you have the two little slots, one each side, then you need the keys, £1 from MB
