Dear all.

Just wanted to know if anyone would know why when I use my rear window heating element, only half of the glass works?

Damage so that the current is not passing through to the rest of the elements?

Any thoughts and any solutions?

Many thanks

There will
Most likely be a break in the heating element. A new screen is the best fix… you can get conductive paint that you can use to fix the break once you found where it is on the screen. Have a close look when it’s running at the area that’s not clearing and you’ll probably see a small gap in the element.

Silver paint.

Comes in tiny tins like nail polish. find the break, Tape across the edges of the break. Paint. Remove tape.

Or new rear screen.

Thanks for your quick replies in the matter.

How easy is it to replace the back screen with a spare one? Would any screen specialist be able to do this job?

Thanks again

No idea. Dont think there are many screen specialists here.

Joking aside, I guess it would be straight forward for a screen person.

For the price of a second screen and the fitting I'd be using repair paint. Particularly given most of the year I would imagine the hard top isn't used ..
