R129 SL 320 Gearbox question

Hi I have put my Sl320 (1997) back into use and I have noticed that it up shifts late when driving it gets to over 4000rpm in 3rd before changing to 4 then 5th immediately after (1sec). I know it is supposed to do this in lower gears when cold but this is full ops temperature.
I have ordered a dipstick off eBay as there is no record of a fluid change.
Has anyone noticed this on their R129.

Also sometimes a but jumpy from 1st to 2nd

If there is no record of the atf being changed, I would get it changed, gearbox and tc, along with the seal and filter.. the oil on your new dipstick should be nice and red..
