R129 sl500 no start 15 years

Hi so I purchased a low mileage example which hadn’t had a start up in 15 years..so new battery went in..changed oil , filters and plugs..new fuel..new fuel filter and fuel pump. So I have fuel pressure and spark ..the car cranks fine but will not turnover..I’m not sure where to go next ..possibly crank sensor? Help would be appreciated..thanks

cam sensor ?

put a scanner on for fault codes.

I actually put a scanner on before I did fuel pump as this had failed..and found no engine codes..a couple of gearbox ones which cleared but no nothing else.

Does it have the flip key or the DAS electric key?

How do you know you have good spark and the correct fuel pressure? Have you measured it?

It’s a flip key which I just had made..I presume we have fuel as it’s pouring out of nozzle when pressed and we have spark as I pulled out coil with plug and could see spark when cranking.

You say u have spark. Give it a small "sniff" see if it fires? If it does and still don't run. Look fuel system, press. And or where fitted fuel pump relay.

What are the lights in the mirror doing when you crank the engine? Do they flash, alternate red and green or dont flash at all?

I cant help but think that the IFZ immobaliser is cutting the fuel pump.

I cant help but think that the IFZ immobaliser is cutting the fuel pump.
This is kind of what I’m starting to think..but the lights on mirror will be green..but surely if it’s cutting fuel pump I wouldn’t be getting fuel to the rail??

Had someone come round and had a look and said the plugs were too dry..so keep going back to fuel problems..the injectors are flashing when testing ..could they possibly be blocked??

How do you know you are getting fuel pressure to the rail? Are you using a fuel pressure tester or just guessing because you can see fuel in the rail?

The fuel pumps on the 129 are a straight forward affair, live and earth and nothing more. So if your wiring has 12v and good earth the pump will run. If it doesnt run there are 2 options, first the immobaliser isnt allowing it to run, second, the pump isnt working.

So, lets go back to the beginning.

Do you have fuel pressure of 3.8-4.2 bar measured by a fuel pressure tester? If the answer is no, check the IFZ (you can bridge it out if you are doubtful and there are plenty of vids on you tube on how to) if the IFZ is ok, check you have 12v and a good earth at the fuel pump.
