If you happen to be changing your rear subframe mounts on an R129 and your friendly parts guy tells you about a supercession from A1293511442 to A2023510942 then do NOT order the bolt and plate kit A1243506708 as it does not work with the new style bushes.

Parts you don't need

2 x A1293511442
1 x A1243506708

Parts you do need

2 x A2023510942 Superceded bushing
2 x A2029900504 bolt
2 x A2023520046 stop/plate

Can't claim all the credit for this, some of this info comes from the 500E crowd, but I have experienced the problem 1st hand, and it's a pain! :(

Not sure where the confusion came from? The 202 parts were all fitted as standard to the last R129s - so if you have one you have them all?

EPC shows A1293511442 for rear subframe bushes, however that is no longer supplied and the 202 part is offered.

EPC also shows the bolts and clamps as A1243506708 but that doesn't fit the new 202 part.

This was all checked against my chassis number for a 1991 500SL, so I guess EPC hasn't caught up with the supercessions, and the dealers don't seem to know about the change in bolt and clamp when using the later subframe bush.

The EPC lists the parts - they're not supposed to be fitted to the earlier cars however - this is why they don't show as superceeded parts for your car on a VIN search.

Does that mean I have a problem with those newer parts and the new bolts and clamps?

It sounds like Inchcape have advised me incorrectly on the supercession :(

They should have supplied the original parts, however given the floorpan and subframe are the same I don't see a huge problem. I imagine the reason is weight/suspension related.
