Will not fit onto the windscreen bracket which seems to be part of the glass.
In the picture can anyone say if this bolt which is attached to the screen will unscrew?

I knocked my RVM off the screen .... long story o_O ....and struggled initially to refit it. I can't think what my screen fitting looked like exactly but the back of RVM looks the same. I eventually fitted mine by offering the mirror to the screen 120 degrees out & then twisting it into position onto the screen.

I have tried all sorts, then left it for the Indy to do. They struggled too and thought it has an aftermarket screen fitting. He didn't want to force it just in case they cracked the screen.
I will try and twist the bolt head carefully and see if undo

Further to this dilemma the bolt will not unscrew as it looks to be glued to the screen, plan 'B' now will be put into action.......Watch this space......

I'm sure my reply above will work .... as above, the 3 claw clip on the back of your mirror is exactly like mine. Put the mirror in place over the block on the screen at 120 degs out of position & twist the mirror round.

I have tried this too EmilysDad, on further investigation I can see that the bolt which the 3 claws attach too is damaged. One of the flats on the bolt has been broken off. I looked at using a slitting disc and small air grinder to reshape the bolt head found the head of the grinder too big. The mirror will clip on to the bolt head and if you don't touch the mirror it's find but getting it into the correct position for two different people is the hard part, but once driven it eventually drops off the bolt head :(
I'll contact a windscreen company and see if they can help tomorrow and see if they have any suggestion's.

Thanks for your help EmilysDad :)

Dropped into the windscreen place today to ask the guys to refit the mirror, after several genuine attempts we decided that the bolt head was too damaged to hold the mirror in place.
We have ordered a new screen which will be fitted on Friday.
All dues to the windscreen guys who suggested trying to clean up a used bolt off a broken screen and then heating up our broken bolt, though this could have damaged the wiring and plastic clips on the mounting plate.
Sat Nav module now on hold
