I have a 2004 SL350 (R230). AC stopped working and red light flashes and then stays when when trying to engage. Before I take it to be looked at by the service agents I would like to try a reset.

Can anybody please advise the reset process?

Thank You

This indicates low refrigerant level (or broken pressure sensor!)

After this fault is fixed, fault codes in the climate module need to be erased before it will engage the compressor again. This has to be done with a diag tool.

I have the same fault in my 55, it is the pressure sensor apparently. It's been like this for over 4 years. The A/C works after clearing the fault but not for long. A/C however will still work in the glovebox and centre compartment. I don't know where this pressure sensor is located.

At least it keeps your drink cool while the roof is down in Summer ;-).

If having it regassed doesn't help try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. That resets all sorts on my E class.

I appreciate the replies that I received to my request. Vehicle just back from the workshop, AC was fully gassed up and no other issues, the diagnostics picked up two fault codes related to electrical issues and once codes cleared AC works fine. Electrical issues could have been related to low charge on auxiliary battery (not sure) which did run down recently (forgot to put on trickle charge, don't drive the car regularly). Will see how it goes into the future and if problem returns will look further. With summer in Aust currently will get plenty of opportunities to test it out. Pleasingly the workshop (who I regularly use) didn't charge me, issue addressed in 15 minutes. Once again thanks for input. Cheers
