I just had the internal handle spindle break on me so I can't open the drivers door from the inside.. As I was trying to get the old spindle out I disconnected the plugs from the door card electrics.

Ive put it back together minus the broken metal spindle for the door handle but now my windows on the drivers side don't close at the very top - when it normally does when you close the door.

Ive tried the reset procedure but it's not working.... And now it's started to rain!!!

URGENT HELP PLEASE AS TO WHAT TO DO TO CLOSE THE WINDOWS BEFORE MY INTERIOR GETS RUINED!!

Reset procedure is hold the buttons down so the windows both open and keep holding them down for a few seconds , then hold the buttons up to close the windows and keep holding the buttons for a few seconds at the top closed position.
Is that what you did ?

Yes that's exactly what I did... Which is why I don't understand why it won't go up to the top anymore

One thing I have spotted is that when I lock the car via remote, it is not giving a flashing confirmation on lock now, but will do so on unlock.. Guess this is related and the car thinks the door is still open hence why the glass won't go up??

That's it.
Also get in the car, turn on the engine and close the door. The door open light should go out.
The switch is in the door latch so if you've had the handle out could have been disturbed.

Thanks kiwi.. Is the switch obvious in the door latch when looking at it? Apart from the mechanical latch I can't see anything else, thou it is dark now..

There's a bunch of wires and connectors. Ensure all of them are connected.

Have you tried my simple test yet?

But I am getting the bong saying close centre comp which would only happen when you open the door, but it's doing it when I unlock the car and the door is shut, suggesting the car thinks the door is still open

Is the door showing closed when you shut it?
Had that, found prob door switch not talking to controller to say door shut. Try holding button full in. See if if it goes right up then

I think I've just figured it out...
The satin metal cover on the end of the door needs to be on for the window to go all the way up!!!!
