My parking sensors are down.. Having scanned the car it's saying all of the front sensors are down, suggesting the loom is damaged or the main control it all links to is down...

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to start? Is there a front sensor control box!?

Can I get to it without removing the front bumper or is it a bumper off job??

Many thanks

Do MB SL have fuses? I find no diagram or list of fuses in my SL manual. But I would start by looking for a fuse and checking that. However, I would expect you have already done that/ruled it out. I would then probably look at the sensors and check the connections from each sensor back to whatever they connect to, looking for breaks, loose connections, corrosion, I might even check each with a multimeter if I could figure out what I needed to check. I imagine you have already done this too.

Could one dodgy sensor knock out the entire array of sensors? In theory this sounds like a reasonably assumption, otherwise drivers could assume that "all is clear" as they edge the car into a tight spot, if one sensor not working and all others are, then one could easily cause damage. So, if I was designing this, I think I would probably assume a fail-safe in that if any single sensor fails, then disable all in the array and log the fault for the whole array. Just a thought.

As above 1st culprit. If fitted, fuse after harness. I imagine they all link up somewhere

Check that the connector at the front bumper is not just unplugged! Easy to access with arch liner off.

Cylindrical connector, on the passenger side inner bumper, behind wheel arch liner. It has a locking tab that must be released.
