I have two keys and have changed the batteries in both. The one I usually carry with me (I have keyless go) causes the car to tell me that the battery is low in the key, the other seems fine. Anyone any idea why a key with a new battery would cause the car to think the battery is low?

The keys look identical and have a single CR2025 battery.

If you swap the batteries that are in there now to the other key , do you still get the warning in the same key ?

R230 SL500 - oh yeah!
I have a similar issue so will be interested to see the results. Will try swapping the batteries around - they were changed at the same time.

Absolutely no idea whatsoever buddy (insert smiley face here)

No problem! Will try swopping them round to start with and see what happens. Could just be a battery issue so simple to resolve.

I have now swapped the batteries. The problem remains with the same key. I have also re-verified that the other key does not indicate low battery.

Sorted! Manually lock and then unlock the car using the buttons on the key, NOT keyless go, and the problem goes away!

You're welcome! Seems the car needs to get a message initiated by the key to believe the battery has been changed.
