What sort of life might one expect from the battery in an R230 Key Fob?

The range at which the keys will open the boot is a matter of a couple of feet and the whole process is rather slow.
Is this usual & would things improve if I fitted a new battery.

If "Yes" can someone please point me to the instructions on how to fit a new battery & advise what battery is required.

It's all in the manual ....

But....
Remove the metal key. Press the spring loaded grey button underneath and while pressed extract the inner battery holder (sounds easy....)
Swap out batteries and refit.

Battery is 2 X CR2025 from memory.

Should be changed every couple of years. If the range is so short the RF side of the key might not be working anymore.

Batteries are actually replaced as part of service. So let that be a reminder.
Read the owners manual, it will specify for you remote

I tried that on my ML .... after consulting YouTube I flicked the side off the key/fob & swapped the battery :)

Yeah the shiny sided ones are much easier!
The R230 uses the older style key where you need to slide out the batteries.
