I went to drop the roof today and got the message that I hadnt closed the roof separator.
Having done that I tried again and got the same message. This time the boot wouldnt open on the door switch or the fob or the handle on the lid or on the metal key. Nor will the central locking work, although if I push the button down it will then unlock on the interior handle but not on the remote or the key. The car wont lock on the remote.
Do I head for the fuse behind the drivers seat ? What size is it ?

20 amp, we have decided that if it blows now and then fit a 25 as some of the motors are near their max current loading, it a yellow fuse.

roof in op

Hi yes they will do, but just check your boot for water ingress as the pse, [central locking pump] and roof pump is there and moisture can cause this fuse to blow.

Nope it isnt the fuse so its PSE time.
I have an RAC Gold warranty which covers central locking pumps and solenoids and on the phone today they said they will cover the cost so its off to PCS when I come back from holiday. I am so pleased I cleaned and graphited the locks and then fitted lock covers ! I can lock and unlock with the metal key. Oddly the red light on the door switch for the boot lid is working again after changing the fuse but it doesnt unlock the boot.
Malcolm do you want the failed PSE to play with ?

I would love to have that please, if I break it I can maybe pass some cash your way.

They are plug and play and only need STAR if you have comfort seats.

those pumps are £825

I will send it to you once its been replaced. Comfort seats ? My SL seems pretty standard.
I might haggle a deal with you over the Smart Top unit I think you have sitting on one of your shelves !

Sorry for hijacking an old thread..but had this problem too.

Car has been laid up for a while and suspect a few gremlins have crept in.

Thankfully changing fuse got roof working again but still not locking.

Hazards flash, alarm arms (although no sound when alarm is activated) but no sign of doors locking.

Could it be related to non sounding alarm?

Could it in someway be related to aerial, which has recently been changed?

Any ideas gratefully received :)

Thanks,

Dave

if the doors aren't locking then the most likely is the PSE pump. Which fuse did you change?

Some refit the fuse in the wrong hole, the correct hole has a black/ red wire coming from the correct place

Thanks. Will get a better look at fuses over next few days and report back.

Car has been indoors all the time it was laid up and pump/foam/area surrounding is dry so hopefully not that.

Cheers,

Dave

If it is just the pump motor you can buy new ones now from the USA at £100, thats better than the £825
