Not 100% on this, but I think you could revert to not using the remote, use the normal button inside the car.

Smart + others :)
Start the car, operate the roof to the desired position, leave car running. It will beep after several minutes to say it’s going to drop, operate lever again to reset timer.

You can also prop the roof/bow cover/boot lid with wood and turn the key off, but be careful.

Use the smarttop to open (from closed) or close (from open) and when you have the roof in the desired position (say a gap of 2 feet from windscreen to roof front, press the key on the remote (press lock if opening or open if closing) and the roof will stop moving.
Be aware that you will only have about 7 seconds before the roof will close or open fully (just depends on which side of the balance point it is) - Remove hands instantly if this should happen.
If you partially open/close the roof using the incar control and leave the engine running you get 7 minutes or thereabouts.
I always use the Television method of proping the roof partially open with a stick wedged, centrally, between the front of the roof and the top of the screen.. If you use a piece of batten about 17 inches long, with something soft taped over the ends, to avoid damage to the trim and give better grip to the prop,. At that length you are not to far from the roof balance point and pulling it forward onto the stick is easy.
For greater safety, cut a V shaped notch in one end of the batten and line it with something soft. place the notched end over the front lip of the roof as you pull it forward. Remember to set the prop centraly and square to the windscreen and roof.
But please remember to remove hands and everything else if you do not get the prop safely in place and properly positioned
