Hi all, hope everybody is keeping safe.

Advice please, 2005 SL350, lovely car had virtually no problems with her since I’ve owned it......until now! Always checking the Boot and it’s dry as a bone but the Rear Window kept misting up overnight so I knew there was water somewhere, I’m clever like that! Finally found some wet carpet which is behind the Drivers Seat where the Carpet goes up to meet the Plastic Panel, by the Storage compartment. Not a wonderful description but hope it’s good enough. I’ve checked as best I can the Drains and Rubbers around the boot and regularly treat them. Any ideas how it could be getting in, is there a drain I’ve missed? At least it’s going to give me something to do for the next 4 weeks! Thank you in advance for any ideas!

Have you checked under the boot carpet? If there is no sign of water, I would have thought the roof or door seals might be at fault. Are rear windows fully closing? Perhaps covering everything up inside and doing a smoke bomb test might reveal where the gap is.

Check the heater intake at front 1st, fill the fan compartment and then runs to back or the drains in the rear drop window compartment.

Thank you for your reply. Could you tell me where the drains in the “rear drop window are” do you mean the 2 in the top corners of the Boot Area. I spotted the water coming out from under the Plastic Panel where it meets the Carpet behind Drivers Door near the Compartment if it helps?

They are directly below the rear electric windows and I Recal exit front of rear wheel arch under liner.

Sounds the likeliest explanation.
