Radar Sensor

Hi my B200 has a Collision Prevention Assist Plus Inopt warning that comes up after I start the car, I have plugged in an Obd reader into the car and it comes up with no faults, my question is does anybody know how to stop this message from coming up, I have cleaned the sensors, also does anyone know where the radar module is located as this is what I am being told is the problem, any help would be much appreciated

Welcome to the forum ...
generic code readers will usually just read engine codes. You need a more Mercedes specific reader

The radar may be out of calibration have you had the car wheels realigned or hit a kerb hard?

Thanks, guys, i haven't kerbed the car or even had the wheels off the ground, so it may look like it has to go to a main dealer so that they can put it on there diagnostics

Any MB independent near you, if you like a stamped mb service then dealer is fine, for anything else a MB indy is better IMHO.

What makes you think its the radar when no errors are showing up, what sensors did you clean.

Is the error always present, does it go after some driving, the reason I ask is because some systems need a strong battery and will shut down until a good battery state is achieved (ie charged)

Thanks Mioba, and to answer your questions, I was told that it could be the radar unit, and the sensors that I cleaned were the ones on both front and back bumpers and the ones under the door mirrors, and I must admit that I hit the ok button as soon as this message appears and it goes away instantly, and have not let it stay on a drive but I will try that and post here to say if it goes out, many thanks again

Others will no doubt come up with some closer, but Prestige in Horndean are highly recommended by me & many others here.

Probably about a 60 mile trip for you though.

Thanks, Guys for all your help, I did a 15-mile run with the fault showing all the way, so I think that it is time it went to an MB dealership for them to sort, many many thanks to you all for the advice
