Hi all
Just being wondering if anyone knows if there is an electric module controller for the radiator fan on a 1998 C200 automatic.
I ask this as I have been told by Mercedes Benz dealer that there is not, and the only thing controlling the fan they say is the viscous clutch drive behind it.
But when I checked in the Haynes Manual, and pulled back the nearside inner wheelarch liner (removing the roadwheel), I see the fan controller they mention in the book that is just around a ciggarette packet size. Not wanting to take it back off again, does anyone know this part number. If so would replacing this instead stop the fan running permanently on when the ignition is switched on.
I have replaced the coolant temperature sensor that goes in the bottom of the header tank and also cleared out the header tank and there is no blockage or air lock in the system, but it is still going off.
