To me it looks like the bottom hose is leaking, probably just needs screwing up a touch.

Thanks.

I will double check the hose again.

Is there any hose connecttion beneath or on other side of Radiator not seen in this picture. Which hose do you believe is the suspect? Is it the rubber hose with metal spring around or the bigger hose (10X size approx)? What are the hose connection call by the way?

Kind regards

From the photo it looks to be the large one at the bottom, about 60-75mm in Diameter
If the hose has been lose for some time, and you have already lost most of your anti freeze, a better job would be to take it off and clean inside the rubber pipe and the pipe on the rad. by taking off the hose clip /clamp/ jubilee clamp, as they are called and making sure the it will do up and undo easily makes a better job, as you know then how tight the hose is, and not a tight clamp. Do surport the pipe from the rad, they are not that strong.
We always used to smear a little grease around the inside of the pipe, but that idea is fround upon these days.

Silicone Grease would be ok as it would not rot the rubber.

Thanks

Some 1 ask me to check the drain value, if its tightened? I have taken a pic, Its located the opposite corner of where the leak originated. Is this the Radiator Drain Valve? Looking at it, can I discount it?

Kind Regards

Thanks

Thats pic confirm its the drain valve & its not the source of the leak.

Is there a schematic to remove underneath the plastic cover to enable me to get a better view, where the leak is coming from?

Kind Regards

There seem to be wet near the pulleys, near the water pump. Is this a water pump leak or its a normal discharge by the water pump due to cooling system prob (like a leaking Radiator/loss of pressure?)

Can I top up my coolant & drive to my mechanic?

Yes you can drive the car so long as you keep an eye on the temperature, but put the fan back on first.

I have put evry thin back & driven to a merc & auto repair place for at least 2 opinions. They all say its the water pump & from the white substance sticking to certain parts, they think it had leak for quite a while.
Is there a rubber seal to replace or need a complete new part?
None notice the leak from the Radiator, one said its not water but the Auto Transmission Fluid?
After saying there is a leak from the plastic tank beside the centre Radiator Core, he showed me one news platick tank with a long rubber seal, which said need replacing. But the cost MB is charging is similar price as changing a new Radiator bought via www.

I am still deciding what to do now?

Engine Mounts Broken

Hi,

The mechanic have now replaced the Water Pump & new Radiator. Question is theRadiator look new from inside the engine bay but externally, where the 2 fans connected is still same. Is that the Air Conditioner/Heater Radiator?

Also mechanic spotted that the engine mount is broken. I know one mount already replace last Aug, coz when car put on reverse it vibrate tremondously, so only 1 mount replace is that the left or right mount. Now this mechanic say "Engine mounts broken". Is it that he observed one broken mount & concluded/assumed the "plural". Whats will occur if that one mount is not replaced?

Kind Regards

Sorry to go a little off-track, but I read recently somewhere that any kind of silicone lubricant should never be used under the bonnet where there is a MAF sensor. Even gasket compound containing silicone is to be avoided as a miniscule amount of silicone contaminated air going into the intake will wreck the sensor apparently.
For what it's worth.

I think it is the fumes given off by Silicone Sealant that is very bad for the MAS unit. Not Silicone itself, a lot of the hoses connecting to MAS are Silicone Rubber.

Motor Mounts Broken

Thanks

Yes, big $$ luckily I went to un-authorused MB Motor Mechanic, who's quite reasonable. Perhaps 1/3 price of an authorised MB dealer. The quote from this shop to replace the $220 for that 1 mount. I wonder which one which had been replaced in Aug? How to view from beneath engine?

What other parts being stressed especially?

The previous indication was when the car vibrate uncotrollable during Reverse (gear) but I understand the other mount controls the forward novement? Which would that be, left mount?

Kind Regards
