Radiator pipes bursting

My 2001 e320 cdi is always bursting the lower radiator hose from radiator to water pump... After a drive, the top pipe will be firm and about to burst..
I replaced the following;
Water pump
Thermostat
Viscouse fan but still no change

Is it bursting or just firm? Are you having to top up the coolant?

Sounds like it may be a blown head gasket to me if it's making the hoses rock hard and/or bursting them

The pipe goes rock hard, after a long drive, it bursts... After it cools down, the top hose shrinks and flattens

Does it have the correct filler cap? These are designed to prevent excessive pressure in the cooling system by venting to atmosphere.

Absolutely need a new radiator cap. It has a set pressure release point.

Agree with star and Lostkiwi, blown head gasket, Does it miss fire on cold start after standing over night?

Remove radiator cap and start engine. Leave running to warm up. If it spits water out the filler it's headgasket.

Another symptom is the heater will only blow cold air. This is because the heater circuit is first to become airlocked.

Its been a year now... I changed the head gasket... Now it starts well but if you leave the car overnight, the coolant hose shrinks
