Hi there,

I do have this problem with my e200 avantgarde 2003 mod. My radio does not work good and i have too use the ir to unlock the dors. I have looked at the fuse in the front fuse box and the fuses are ok. Is there any checklist i can follow too find the problem. Can anyone tell me where to check on the amplifier if i gets 12V.

Sorry for my Norwegian english.....

Hej och välkommen.

The amp sits in C pillar,,so I take it the radio lights up but poor or no sound.

With a fault in the amp the IR locking (close range) will still lock

If you can put up the next 3 numbers of the vin after 203 I can try and check it out later in the day

It's not an APS 50, it's an Comand APS*.

So you had it changed? The datacard for your car states it left the factory with Audio 50 APS.

It's not a problem, just clarifying :)

The amp is powered from the Comand as I see it,, the amps are known to fail,, the antenna's are in the tailgate read door,,possible that a wire has broken.

To start with I have the instruction for removing the amp for you

Hi again,

2 months ago, i replaced the amplifier, with part number 2118202989. This did not help. The radiosignal was stil weak and i still had to use the IR when using the key. Is the antenna for the key(Lock)/radio in the rear left window or in the tailgate?

television: Are you mailing the instruction for removing the amp?

Another know ting is that the inner wire in the cables are very thin and they can break just inside the plugs.

The test that I do is to tune the radio to a station that you can just hear, take a very thin Nail or pin and while holding it touch the inner pin on the cable that goes to the comand, if the radio comes to life then the cable or plug at fault. if it comes to life replace it and take out the one that goes into the amp from the rear window and touch the pin into the pin on the amp, if it comes to life then the amps OK and a broken wire from the antenna to the amp.

I can print off the rear window arrangement
