Hi,
MB can tell you I believe providing the stereo has,nt been changed in the car.
Do a google search for "mercedes car stereo code" and/or variations of this, and there are web sites that will tell you the code. example below, most make a small charge.
http://www.instant-radio-code.co.uk/?gclid=CKqpz8C67JUCFQFbtAodb2ACYA
You could always remove the head unit as sometimes, if the head unit has been replaced at some point it may have the code written on the casing, as both mine were sourced from scrapyards, the codes were written in marker pen on the outer case.

Hi,
If you post your car stereo serial number, I have just found I have a key code generator I downloaded, I maybe able to supply it for you. Its meant to work very well though I have never tried it.

spoke to dealers today and they gave me a code for radio , i gave the the vin number , model of the radio and the radio serial number which they then gave me a 4 digit code ? the radio is asking for a 5 digit code and will not except it , mercedes then said thats about all they can do and to try a car audio shop to try and decode the radio ?
any thoughts on this ?

That's strange, because when I had a problem with my Audio10, the dealer gave me the code from my VIN,and when the unit refused to accept it,entered the serial number into the system, gave me another code, and also told me that it wasn't the original radio for my car.It didn't accept this code either, but it turned out to have a terminal problem (as in it had died).Might it be worth trying another dealer?Edit-Itook it to a car audio specialist who said that Alpine and Becker both produced this model for MB,and if it was a Becker, there would be a good chance to sort it.Alpine UK apparently do not provide any back-up???.Guess which one I had!

Sorry the codes did,nt work, first time i had used the software, so was,nt sure if it was any good.
I bought a Audio 10 radio/CD unit from a local car audio shop i went to fit it and the code they gave me did,nt work, took it back they sent it away to a repairer it was back within the week with a working code.
Try your local car stereo shop it should,nt be a problem, if for some reason you can,t get it sorted i do have 2 Audio 10 units, 1 is a radio/cd the other is radio/cassette, both with working codes, that i could be persuaded to get rid of.

Old trick...

Place radio in poly bag in a freezer for 24hr, erases the code.

Might not work on more modern units though.
