- 2005 E320 (W211) CDi Elegance Estate Tip, 2000 E320 (W210) CDi Elegance Estate Tip (sold)
I've just got my W211 E320 CDI back from a D+ service. The diagnostics showed the following error under 'CDI 3 -Common Rail Diesel Injection 3':
Code: 2047-001
Text: Rail pressure monitoring via volume control valve. The rail pressure is too low.
Does anyone know the sorts of things that could be causing this error?
I've only had the car (a 2005 model that replaces a 2000 E320 CDI) less than a couple of weeks and it seems to drive fine. The only thing I've noticed when compared to my previous E320 is:
- the mpg seems lower. On a decent run, my old E320 would turn in 38mpg consistently whereas the best I've been able to get from my new one is 33.5mpg.
Until the service threw up the above error message, I put this down to the way I been my driving, given that it's a new toy, but could there be a link?
