Rain sensing wipers do I have them?

Hi guys and gals

I beleive my C180K Avantgarde is fitted with rain sensing wipers though on the stalk i still have only 0 I II III without an 'auto' option! I have noticed though that on setting II it does not wipe to a set pattern but erratically as if it was in auto mode. I do have the piece under the mirror and viewed externally it looks like there is some form of sensor there...

Any ideas.

The sensor a little blue dot under the mirror would show that you do have it, if any water hits that spot the wipers will wipe till dry then stop, and start again the next time.

My CLK has rain sensing wipers. I have positions 1,2 and 3 on the wiper stalk and the sensor works on position 1 according to the intensity of rain.

If you have folding door mirrors and illuminating sunvisor mirrors, then you will almost always have rain sensitive wipers, as they were all part of one options package.

Not sure about 2003, but the current Avantgarde SE package has the illuminating sunvisor and folding mirrors as standard fit, whereas the rain sensing wipers are a mere £90 extra.
