Hiya All,

I'm being driven mad of late by a rattle in the door trim of my 300E. It's the faux walnut trim that runs along the length of the drivers door. I have tried to investigate it but I can't figure out how the get the trim away from the door without snapping it. Without taking a proper peek, I can only guess what the problem is.

Can anyone lend me the benefit of their wisdom on this one please!! I want to know how to get the trim off safely and also would be interested if anyone has previous expereince of this and perhaps knows what the root cause may be.

Either way, please help me make it stop....it's doing my head in and I can't swerve enough to avoid ALL the bumps in the road :-(

Thanks a lot

Chris

Fixing door trim

By coincidence, I just got in mine and noticed one end was loose. Easing it back I can see that it has a threaded stud, so I'm guessing that if you (and now I) take the entire door trim off we will find the wood strip held on by a couple of nuts which need tightening. HTH!
