Hi all - hope to get some advice on my ‘new’ 2005 C320 (approx. 131,500 mi, but regularly serviced over its life according to the book).

I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and a few days ago it started developing a rattling sound from the front left (kind of sounds like it’s coming from around the front left wheel area) when driving over uneven roads :( Just slight cracks in the road will make it rattle, but when the car is standing just bouncing it up and down a bit on the suspension doesn’t . No impact on driving performance / feeling as far as I can tell.

Does that sound familiar to anyone / any ideas what it could be?

Any help / musings appreciated. Happy to provide any more useful details if helpful of course. Aside from this (and some wonky electronics that don’t seem urgent) I really love the car already! :)

Rgs, Tom

Thanks, LostKiwi! I’m still a bit new to the experience, but google is my friend and I’ll look into these! :)

Probably won’t have time till this weekend or next, and I’m due for some 100-200 mi of journeys till then. Is there anything wrong with still driving it around like this  (I hope that’s not a stupid question)?

Depends on what's worn.....

If you are gonna fix it yourself, then throwing parts at it might be an option (start with the cheap stuff).
But...... if you're paying someone to get dirty for you, make sure they are familiar with the car and are not doing the throwing parts themselves, that has the ability to cost you more than the car is worth.

Bit of a late update, but I thought I should post a conclusion - it turned out to be the front n/s suspension top mount. I got it fixed under warranty from the car dealer (back in May), so that went well!
