I've always found mercs official figures to be pretty accurate. Personal anecdotal figures are meaningless as everyone drives differently and in differnt traffic conditions. One mans 40mpg is another's 30mpg ....

And the fuel gauges too. On the 129 I can tell exactly how many miles are left in the tank just by reading the fuel gauge and the trip meter.

Well in my SL500 I can get the city figure of 14.8 with ease :D

When it comes to the Combined figure of 22.3 I can beat that as well :D

The "Extra Urban" does baffle me,,I have got the 29.9 but never the 30.7 quoted:D

I think it would require you to drive on the level at 56 mph with no headwind Malcolm. You might achieve the mileage figure, but we would probably have to sedate you to get there.

1999 C200 auto with 44000 miles averaged between 25-33.
2000 C200K estate auto 96000 miles averaged about 25 so far. Havn't had it very long & so not had a good run yet to see what it's like on motorway.

These are based on MY figures with a mixture of me driving (10 miles to work in a mixture of heavy traffic up to 30-40mph max) and the missus driving (usually local school run + shopping - so very urban)

Expect to see 300 miles on a tank - minimum, up to 380. This is driving till light comes on & then filling, about 54 litres.

I have been getting 33 MPG nearly every time I check it over the last 100,000miles and that’s usually every 2-3 weeks tank full to tank full checking...It sometimes does 34-5MPG on a very steady long run.

I have CLK230K as well and on a good motorway run, you can easily acheive figures around 40 but combined figures would be around 28- 30mpg

C200K, SL500.
C 200k I get a minimum 33MPG (around town) and 36.1 MPG average (over 6,500 miles @ 27MPH) can do 44MPG on long journeys (motorway). I live in a semi-rural location but lots of hills and most journeys are less than 10 miles, so I don't think it's too bad.

I average 26 mpg in my CLK200K A. mostly urban driving though. Expect 32+ on a "run".

C 200 Kompressor Sport Auto (W 202) - MY 2000

Had one of these from 2002-2007. In 25,500 miles it averaged 31.1 mpg.

Consistently around 30, but best ever was a light footed trip up the A5 to Anglsey and the tank brimmed before and after - 36.5.
