Fairly easy when done right. Hairdryer to soften the glue, some fishing wire to slip behind the badge if necessary, ease it off, some lighter fuel or tar remover to get the gunge off, and a polish after, hoping that the paint hasn't faded around the badge. Going for the stealth look are we? Stick a CLK 200 badge on it instead for maximum giggle factor.

How easy is it to remove the rear badges then? :D

Just pull off, warm them in the sun first, or use a hair drier. Pulled a couple of mine off last w/e but decided to stick 'em back. They left a dark shadow that didn't come off witha wet finger and I wasn't in the mood to polish the whole tailgate just then.

Think I'll wait til the heavens stop opening.

 Scare those pesky TVR drivers. ;)

Joking apart, I educated my ex in how to sport a de-badged fast car. Yours is easy as are certain other Mercs , BMs etc, though it does get a bit harder now with hidden pipes, and multiple pipes poking out from humble cars.

well, i was also looking at replacing the AMG twin-pipe exhaust with a single but slightly louder pipe. People would just think I have a slightly noisy car (except afficionados would notice the V8 sound).

As some of the above, heat the badges with a hairdryer, but try dental floss, it removes them a treat with no danger of marking the bodywork.
