Hi yes checked all fuses and the connections all seem good. A bulb did go and was changed if one goes cam it knock out the others also is it best to change them alllook at the fuse box where the fuse is for the rear lights - but if due to the rain would have knocked out alot more.
Have you looked in the boot at the lights to make sure the connections are snug.

That's great I'll try that first before anything else thank youCertainly not uncommon, I have seen this many times on cars, change a bulb one side and the other side fails a week later. So I tend to change in pairs for the sake of it.
As a side, I find MB bulbs to be fantastic and last a ridiculous long time, In all my years of MB ownership I think I have changed 5 bulbs max and used genuine merc bulbs.
I look after my sisters car (Ford Galaxy) and use Ring bulbs, every year a bulb needs doing, must updrade....
but that doesnt explain why you only have reverse lights, I would be checking the earth at the cluster.
