rear seat squab removal on E320 cabriolet

how do I remove (or tilt forward) the rear seat squab on an E320 cabriolet so I can get at the seat belt mounts. It looks easy but I can't get it to move after flicking the little red levers that look like release levers.

not sure on that model, (im assuning its a w124) but on the w202 c-class and 210 e-class cars ive had, the release levers you speak of are at each side. operate them and lift the front of the seat squab up at the same time. when both sides are released fully, slide the seat forwards as its located on 2 metal arms and it just slides forwards til they come out of the seat. about 8 or 9 inches or so id guess

That doesn't seem to work.

I can realease the front OK and raise the front of the seat base about 3 inches, then it feels like the seat backrest also needs to be raised up so that the seat base can then come up off the seat belt latches at the rear.

It's a cabriolet and the rear seat belt latches come up vertically through the rear of the seat base.

at the point where it feels like the backrest needs to come out, mine just pulls towards the front of the cae. as yours is a 124 ce though, it may be different, but thats how it is on mt 210
