Hi i'm interested in buying MERCEDES-BENZ CLK 230K Avantgarde 2dr Coupe 2002.I love the look of this car but the only thing is the 2 rear seats in the back,is there any way of fitting normal rear seats from another model?

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before and the conclusion was no because of issues around how you could anchor the middle seat belt effectively. Try doing a search. Having owned three of these lovely cars, I'd also suggest that it would be a bit of a tight squeeze in the back for three.

There may be a problem with insuring 5 people in a car listed as a 4 seater.

I've been down this route with the insurance company for the W 209 CLK. There is no way that my insurance (and I suspect any other one) would insure the car with 5 seats. I think the main reason was that it had no crash test certification from Mercedes for 5 seats. Mine's classed as a 4 seater and so it must stay.

I had a third seat belt professionaly fitted to my W208 cabriolet by a seat belt specialist who was recommended by what was Mercedes Benz of Harpenden. I have had no trouble insuring the car for the past 4 years & I have always declared the modification to the insurance company.

I stand corrected then, my insurance company must have just been on a bad day. But the W 209 hasn't got a middle seat, just a sort of wide pocket thing with a centre arm rest above that. What's your 5th person sitting on?

The cabriolet doesnt have the plastic tray piece between the seats, although there is'nt a lot of room for the third passenger it is handy when needed occasionaly.
The company that fitted the belt told me they had changed the rear seat and added an extra belt in quite a few CL's.
