Rear Speakers don't work. W140

When I got the car 2 months ago, I didn't notice whether the rear speakers were working or not. Then the radio/cassete player packed up so I got a used JVC radio/CD palyer. The connections were the standard ISO so the swap out was easy. Now I've got this really good system but I've noticed that the rear speakers don't work. Any ideas anyone?

This is the layout it will be a matter of finding the wires to see if they are connected.

Are the ones in the rear door working as they can be wired in series. The rear parcel shelf ones can go open circuit due to condensation running down the rear window.

You can check the speakers with a 1.5 volt battery
