Rear tailgate and rear arch rust on ML !!

Hi everyone not posted before

My 2002 ML320 goes in on Monday warranty work on the above panels, was wondering if anyone has had this work done under warranty and what end results to expect (I am really fussy regarding bodyshops)

Warranty work should be top class, the bodyshop will be MB recommended..and if you're not happy..complain, nicely..

In my experience, all bodyshops invariably leave a little overspray somewhere on the car. The worst ones get it everywhere and don't bother to remove it while the best ones will do their best to remove it before you even see it.

Recently I had a little on one B pillar at door panel level between the doors, on the valance and on two wheels.
An hour with a cloth and polish removed 99% of it. I'm sure the rest will come off next time.

If there's too much, just tell the bodyshop and I'm sure they'll deal with it. They don't always see it, especially inside their workshops.

bodyshops vary wildly. I had some work done on my 210 and the results were excellent. We then had some work done on a 211 but by then the dealer had switched ownership and moved to a different bodyshop. The work was atrocious. They'd sprayed straight over the rust at one point.
However, the work you are supposed to expect is to MB factory standards. Anything less is not acceptable so if you're not 100% happy, reject it. We did and after marking the manager's card, the second attempt was perfect.
